Chris Beyer is an educator, community organizer, and trainer with expertise in the following areas:

Contributions to Positive Youth Development Field

Since 2000 Chris has been a national trainer for Vision Training Associates, Inc. Her work has included presentations on behalf of Search Institute®, developer of the 40 Developmental Assets® framework for positive youth development. In this capacity, she has trained hundreds of people whose passion and heart is in the work of building great kids.

Chris was involved in starting a community-wide asset-building initiative in her own community and consulted with other communities. She has assisted in the development of education sector training events and has contributed to and reviewed numerous publications in the area of positive youth development.

Community Activities

Chris has taken leadership roles in the community as demonstrated by her involvement with the City of Colorado Springs’ strategic planning process for Youth and Families, and the Health Department’s Strategic Planning Advisory Committee, which prioritized alcohol and violence issues. She has consulted with nonprofit boards regarding internal processes and relationships. Within the community she has shared the asset message with staff and volunteers of Colorado Springs city parks.

Chris is considered one of the “founding mothers” of Colorado Springs Assets for Youth. She served as president of the fledgling initiative, member of the executive council, and chairperson of the speakers committee.
